Street Tacos in Oakland

I had never heard of this place, but a friend from Oakland took me here and I am in LOVE. The food is worthy of a king, no a god. Also the prices are great. They may have long lines so order ahead.

Best Mexican restaurant in Oakland, TN . I wish they had a Memphis location so I could go more often. The queso fundido is awesome and they also have homemade drinks like hibiscus tea. I only have one negative in that they don't sell alcoholic beverages.

Best Mexican restaurant in Oakland hands down! Everything on the menu is too notch and I have never had a bad experience out of at least 100 times going. Also, if you order the hamburger, which is one of the best in the county, the fries are cooked fresh for you.

Got 2 tacos one fish and one shrimp and a tea.Right at 10 dollars. No free chips.Tacos are small about half size.Tasted good but no bang for your buck.

Decided not to eat there as they do not do salsa and chips at table. That's a must with me.

Overall, good atmosphere. The place seemed moderately busy and we got our food very quickly. All of the employees were friends.

You walk in and it smells AMAZING!! It doesn't take a couple minutes to get your order but it feels like forever because by the time its ready you're starving! And the food is so so worth it!

I had the cochinita pibil tacos and they were soaked in grease. Not very good!

As a Texas native it is so hard to find good Mexican food in Memphis. Street Tacos brings me right back home! Such amazing food and the service is always friendly and fast. We have become weekly patrons and hope to stay that way. It is the only place we will eat Mexican food or tacos anymore!

In my American mind, this seems authentic Mexican food. The food all seems made from quality ingredients. It is delicious and healthy.

Volcano Tacos, and the Street fries are my go to. Their Avacado Smoothie is way better than it sounds too! This is some authentic Mexican food, and it's found out here in Oakland. We love this place and go as often as we want Mexican food.

My husband and boys would move in to eat here three times a day if they could. They love this place over the many other Mexican restaurants in town. Great place!

Service great . Cashier friendly and helpful . The food was good. The prices are 30% higher in comparison to portion size . The aroma permeating from the cooking area are delicious but you will leave hungry .

Just make sure to click the picture of the absolute beast of a Burrito XL they have. It is $9.01 with taxes as of 11/16/17.I tip happily $2.00. This is by far my favorite cheat food with carbs (I'm a Type 1 Diabetic). I have found that they have closed a few random days but they usually place a sign out in front of the store when they do. You know what they absents makes the heart grow fonder and, I always Iook forward to that burrito whenever they are open again!

This place is so good. I cant even make myself try anything else other than the street rice and tacos.

Under seasoned, over cooked food. First time and I wasn’t impressed. I can go down the road to the Mexican restaurant and get better tasting food for around the same price. Masking the poorly seasoned food , loading each taco with a bunch of cilantro and onions is ridiculous. I will never eat here again.

Excellent food, my wife and I lived in south Texas for years and know real Mexican food. STREET TACOS has it here and have become a stop for us when we ride in this area.

Love the food here but unfortunately called to place a to go order and had to sit on hold for almost ten minutes listening to her take orders. I finally gave up. Sadly I called back 5 minutes later and couldn't get through. Which means I would have been on hold for over 15 minutes listening to other people get service. Please do better street tacos, I'm a loyal customer.

It was pretty busy but I was excited to eat from a place that used to be a food truck. I may have ordered the wrong thing this time but I was a little disappointed it wasn’t great. I think I expected to much from them in all fairness to them it was really busy.

I've read the reviews and everyone seems to rave about this place so my friend and I decided to check it out. We were VERY DISAPPOINTED! Please don't let people call this authentic Mexican food, it is not. I ordered the steak tacos and the steak wasn't seasoned and it was close to burnt. They pile it in because they must be trying to get rid of it. Ordered chips and queso. Their chips are deep fried pita like. Use regular tortilla chips and maybe they would have gotten a 2 star. Nachos have the same chips so my friend did not like their nachos and the meat wasnt flavorful for him either. The horchata is mediocre dont bother ordering it. People claim this is the best mexican in Oakland? That's because they dont know what good mexican food tastes like. I would have had more flavors eating at Taco Bell. I would not recommend this place and I won't be going back

Food is amazing. I'm not one to go to a Mexican restaurant, but a friend convinced me to try it. My wife and I now join them every Saturday at Street Tacos. Great food, great staff, great experience.

Came here for a late lunch and came right before they were closing from the 3 to 4 hour. We were unaware of the hour closure and had come from Collierville, the staff was great and offered to let us order and take our food to go. Our food was delicious and we enjoyed our spur of the moment picnic!

Street Tacos.. the name says it all. This is a hidden gem oh Oakland Tn. Fresh, full of flavor and authentic. The owners are super friendly. The staff always smilingly. The restaurant is rust-chic.Enough about the that stuff. On to the good stuff. In the picture is the Ramones. A mix of steak, chicken, chorizo and awesome sauce. Three will fill you up. I have had pretty much everything on the menu and haven't not liked anything. If you go, get the street rice. It's a show stopper. Pros: Authentic flavor, fresh, top quality food. Clean, good value, super friendly. Cons: My wife won't let me have it every night.... LOL#streettacosoaklandtn

First time there ordered the nachos they we by far the best I've ever had it puts el nipol and margaritas to shame the chips were by far the selling point if ur looking for strong and sturdy nacho chips street tacos is superior wonderful staff and customer service they even brought it right to my table thank u cook at street taco I am a chef myself and I have no problems with coming there in the future I am amazed at every minor detail that was put in to the creation of art that was my nachos please keep up the terrific work :)

Always 5☆!! Fresh and hot because it's made to order (not premade & put under lamps). Sometimes it takes a little longer because they are always busy & like I said it's made to order. No different than any other restaurant in that matter. Always fantastic food & they don't skimp on the servings!! I usually get the tacos, street fries or street rice but eventually I'll work thru the menu!!

Street taco offers fantastic food at a very reasonable price, freshly cooked and prepared. Service is usually very quick with the exception of incredible crunch time, parking is not too bad most of the day. it can be a little difficult to find, access to the strip mall it is in is not particularly straightforward. You must take one of the entrance is very near the main intersection, or very far back nearly past the Walmart. The menu is varied, with Mexican inspired foods, some of them rather authentic. their daily specials very, but they do indeed have some very traditional dishes at times. A lot of their menu is also more modern takes on classics, and is more in line with text mex. The staff and owners are fantastic people, and limited alcohol is available.
